Richard graduated from the University College of Osteopathy (UCO) in 2021. He came into Osteopathy after having general treatment for many years and needing help after a sporting injury, and was amazed and intrigued by the treatment and its effects. He spent some time reading about Andrew Taylor Still (the founder of Osteopathy) and the origins of Osteopathy, and he felt a connection with what he read. Previously he worked in educating young people, particularly young offenders or those outside of mainstream education.
He also obtained a BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Soft Tissue Therapy and has many years of experience in offering treatments such as Sports Massage and Deep Tissue Massage. He specializes in sports injuries, joint manipulations, paediatric and elderly care, and Cranial Osteopathy.
In his life, Richard has participated in lots of physical activities and having some health challenges himself has led him to be inquisitive about what health is and how it can be maintained. He has found Osteopathy to be the closest to holistic care and he now has the ability to understand it and provide it. He thoroughly enjoys his work and the many challenges it presents as he gets to deepen his understanding of life while supporting people to optimise their health.
