This will depend on your condition and the time you had it for. Acute conditions usually take just a couple of treatments. Subacute and chronic conditions may need few more. If considered to be beneficial, we may also recommend having maintenance treatments regularly at different time intervals. Your practitioner will discuss this with you based on your individual needs. The aim is to always try get you better as soon as possible!
Of course! During the initial consultation, your osteopath will go through few medical questions followed by a thorough examination of the symptomatic areas. Then, you will be given a diagnosis and a treatment plan which includes treatment from the first appointment.
Osteopathy, massage, shockwave therapy, taping, cupping therapy and dry needling may all result in some discomfort post treatment. On occasions, some bruising may also occur although this is uncommon. Any soreness should not last more than few days after treatment.

We may ask you to undress partially during your consultation. However, we want you to feel completely comfortable during your treatment and you will not be asked to undress any more than you are happy to. We advise wearing suitable attire for manual therapy consultations (i.e., loose shorts or underwear, sports bra/vest…)

All osteopaths are regulated and must be registered with the General Osteopathic Council in accordance with the Osteopaths Act 1993. They also have undergone at least 4 years of training to be granted the use of the title Osteopath. It is illegal for someone to call themselves an osteopath without being on the register.
