Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a healthcare approach of diagnosis and treatment used for a wide range of medical conditions. Osteopaths use non-invasive techniques such as physical manipulation, soft tissue/massage techniques, rhythmical articulations and stretching to increase the mobility of joints, relieve muscular tensions, enhance blood and nerve supply to the tissues and help the body’s own healing mechanisms. They may also provide advice on posture and exercise to aid recovery, promote health and prevent symptoms from reoccurring. Osteopaths’ patients include the young, the elderly, manual workers, office professionals, pregnant people, children and athletes.

Shockwave Therapy

Shockwave Therapy is a safe, non-invasive procedure which involves passing high-frequency acoustic pulses through the skin and into soft tissue or bone using a special device.

The therapeutic effect comes from an increased blood circulation and metabolic activity into the affected site, meaning more substances involved in repair can be delivered to this area, improving regeneration and healing and reducing pain.

NICE guidance and FDA approval

Shockwave Therapy has both NICE guidance and FDA approval for a large number of indications such as acute, chronic and calcifying tendinopathies (i.e. greater trochanter pain syndrome, plantar fasciitis, rotator cuff or elbow tendinopathy...) and muscle pathologies (i.e. Myofascial Pain Syndrome, muscle sprains…).

Shockwave Therapy has been shown to be most effective when combined with manual therapy and rehab exercises.

Sports Massage &

Deep Tissue Massage

Sports Massage & Deep Tissue Massage can help alleviate muscular and postural-related tensions, aches and pains which may be caused by the stress of modern life or by sports-related physical activities. Both use a variety of techniques tailored to patients’ specific needs. These treatments stimulate lymphatic flow and drainage, assist in the removal of metabolic waste and facilitates the supply of essential nutrients into the tissues. Whether it is to reduce muscular tension or stress, enhance sporting performance, recover from injury, improve sleeping patterns or just as a maintenance treatment to prevent injuries, sports massage and deep tissue massage can benefit everyone at any time.

Dry Needling & Medical Acupuncture

Dry needling / Medical Acupuncture: is a procedure in which acupuncture needles are inserted into the skin and muscle. It has been shown to instantly increase pressure pain threshold and range of motion, improve blood flow and oxygenation into the tissues and decrease muscle tone and pain in patients with musculoskeletal conditions. Myofascial pain, tendinopathies and muscle strains are some of the most common conditions favourably responding to this type of treatment.

Sports Taping & Strapping and Kinesiology Taping (K-Tape)

Sports Taping & Strapping uses tape and adhesive bandages to stabilise and fasten injured joints and sprains. These taping techniques normally restrict movement and provide extra support for tendons, ligaments and muscles to protect the injured joint from further damage and help speed up recovery.

Kinesiology Taping (K-Tape) utilises different taping application techniques to help with pain management, muscular and articular support, kinaesthetic awareness and oedema reduction.

Dry Cupping Therapy

Dry Cupping Therapy is a form of therapy where cups are placed or moved over different areas of your body to create a vacuum which lifts the soft tissue and create an upward stretch within the muscle and surrounding fascia.

It helps increase localised circulation, oxygenation and nutrient content within the tissues, remove stagnant metabolic product, enhances healing process and stretches associated fascia and connective tissue, which can lead to a relaxation response.
